How to get started

What is MatterBook and how does it work?

MatterBook is your digital booking management system that allows you to receive online bookings in an easy, simple and free way. With MatterBook you can choose the rules of your restaurant, customize your agenda and allow your customers to book you directly from their devices 24 hours a day with immediate confirmation.

How much does MatterBook cost?

MatterBook is free from Monday to Thursday. In order to use its services also on Friday, Saturday and Sunday you can purchase the MatterBook Pro Plan, which includes the free days provided by the MatterBook Plan and allows you to use your agenda also on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the cost of € 2.00 per day.

In which countries can I use MatterBook?

In every country. In fact, MatterBook is available in Italian, English and Spanish.

What do I need to get started?

To start getting booked, you need to subscribe to MatterBook, configure your agenda (all guided step by step) and share your booking system on social networks or on your website.

Do I have to enter my credit card to sign up for MatterBook?

No, the only data required are: name, surname, e-mail, name of the restaurant, VAT number and telephone number.

What is a booking system?

It is an online platform that replaces your paper diary with a digital one, allowing your customers to book at your venue when and where they want, and you to conveniently manage reservations from your smartphone, tablet or PC.

What devices can I use MatterBook on?

MatterBook can be used on any device with a web browser. It is optimized for smartphones, tablets and PCs.

Do I need to download anything to use MatterBook?

No, MatterBook is an entirely online platform, you don't need to download anything on your devices.

What happens when i receive a booking?

When a customer makes a reservation at your venue, the latter is automatically recorded in your agenda. You will also receive a notification directly on your agenda and an e-mail confirming the booking will be sent to your e-mail address.

Manage reservations

How do I change or cancel a reservation?

Select the reservation to be modified in the Agenda. Click on the pencil icon to proceed with your modification. The system will take you inside the table grid: by selecting the reservation you can delete it, move it or change the assigned table.

How do I enter a reservation made over the phone?

Click on the "+" icon of your agenda: MatterBook will lead you to the table grid where you can add the reservation corresponding to the table number and the fixed time. You can then enter your name, number of people and any additional notes.

How to communicate to the system that a customer has arrived?

Clicking on the reservation will open a menu with various options, including "Customer arrived".

Administration

How do I set up a closing period?

Under "Manage", select "Edit Agenda". In the "Closing period" section, you can set the beginning and end of the closing period of your restaurant.

How do I enter my staff?

In the "Manage" item, select "Manage Staff": you can add your employees by entering their name, surname and e-mail address, and specifying what type of user they will be and what they can do within your agenda.

What to do if I have not received a confirmation e-mail?

If you have not received a confirmation email, in most cases it is a possible delay due to a poor connection. Please be patient or, if the problem persists, check your SPAM or junk mail. If after 48 hours you still haven't received your confirmation email, contact us.
